This is so fun and really hits home for me. I love that Lake Street Dive cover. Another Lake Street Dive one that does it for me (and would be on my playlist) is "I can change". And then a super sappy one that makes me cry these days is the country song "Next Thing You Know" by Jordan Davis
Mm yeah, I'll take basically anything from Lake Street Dive, and that's a great one. "Being a Woman" weirdly also feels like it belongs on my ten year anniversary playlist, but maybe that's a little bit too "alt" for a love song lol.
Re: Next Thing You Know...my neighbor's kid went to college last fall and I privately cried when she sent a photo of the drop off. My kid is two...
looks like we made it is also my song for our marriage...but the original one....24 years this year....we are starting to have time for one another again now that kids are 16 and 21! x
-You and Me on the Rock by Brandi Carlile (ideally the version featuring her wife!)
-Don’t Wanna Be Without You by Penny and Sparrow
-One Less Question by Madi Diaz
-Dinner with Friends by Kacey Musgraves
-The Bones by Maren Morris and Hozier
Also there are so many amazing deep love songs by Big Thief! And solo work by Adrianne Lenker. “Free Treasure” has been on repeat all summer and nothing could capture the past 7 years with my partner better 🥹
Love stories are winners. Yours, ours, and others--there's such a strong universal connection. Bravo on 10 years. Go ahead and project a little with each other what you hope to see and say at 20, 30, 40-years, should you both make it that long. We did not set marriage as a goal, but it turned out to be the biggest thing in our lives. Just as you are discovering things together you never imagined-it can happen. The greatest act of the marriage happens when death actually does the "so long as we both shall live" final scene. Knowing that is absolutely ahead will help you make every day from now on as special as those first 10 have been.
"Stuck With You" by Huey Lewis and the News. Cute video in the 80s, but landed just right for me when I heard it again recently.
When Himself and I hit ten years, I remarked that we had probably smashed all of the over-unders our friends had made for us being together. We're not exactly an "Opposites Attract" couple, but there are enough quirks that folks went "huh?" when we started out.
After 44 years, two kids plus two, and 4 continents, I too have a play list, although those who know me claim it’s far too ethnic for their tastes. Maybe that’s the reason I’m never asked to d.j. at wedding receptions.
“Ordinary People” by John Legend and “Give You Blue” by Allen Stone. My husband and I are in the same stage of life as you, and these songs get me every time.
What a great idea to make a playlist! You will be thrilled you did that when you’re facing your 40th anniversary. Congratulations on 10 years, it’s a huge milestone Rachel!
Love. I've been obsessed with this song recently: https://open.spotify.com/track/5uu2OCGGrTRS1sIvlMgKwe?si=ce041da4acb64dcc. Maybe it might resonate with you too.
ohhhh yes so good. Will you love me for who I am, not who I was?

Woohoo! Next chapter! Hope it's a great one.
Ugh I love all three of these songs ❤️

My husband and I will be 5 years married this September as well! I love this playlist idea. My song is “Free Treasure” by Adrianne Lenker

You might like the song Ten Year Night by Lucy Kaplansky, being that you just hit ten years together. It’s totally saptastic.
“Right Back To It” by Waxahatchee ❤️
This Guy’s in Love by Herb Alpert is our song
For thirty nine years
We took possession of it on our honeymoon in Hong Kong in 1985
Happy anniversary! My partner and I are also celebrating 10 years together and 5 years married 🥰
I definitely have songs that make me feel like this 11 years and so many transitions:
Louise by Mipso

And recently this one by Lowland Hum made me feel allll the things when going through a rough patch postpartum:

And this makes me think of us, because it’s always the song I choose to play pulling out of the driveway when we move…
